Urban Courtyard Day 3.

I have now learned how to expand on my work on 3DS.

I am finally able to hollow out a boxed or a cylinder object to, for example, create a bench or a pond. Also I have reviewed the amount of space and the quantity of sculptures or objects to help myself understand what is needed to minimise the cluttered look in which my Urban Courtyard possesses now.

In attempt to make my Courtyard less cluttered I expanded the surface area of the flooring and also made the shapes and objects smaller. Also I started to use more of realistic colours into what I want to use for my final design.

Urban Courtyard Day 2.

I used my own imagination and put it down onto paper what I wanted my Urban Courtyard to look like. I used a range of perspectives; one point, two point and birds eye view. By using the one and two point perspectives it gives you an idea of how your design pans out in a 3D view.

First off I started with a rough birds eye view to create the base of my design to see how I would have it laid out and then after I drew it up neater and added labels to show a clear understanding of whats what. Also on my two point perspective sketch, I added a little more detail within the furniture and structure of my idea.

Also I used 3DS Max to create my 3D view of my Urban Courtyard to have an even better perspective and idea of how I may want to design my Courtyard for my final piece.

First of all I played around with 3DS Max to get a good understanding of how the tools worked. I used simplistic shapes and colours for my design so I could see the base of my work. Once I gain more confidence with 3DS Max I will start to create a more in-depth version of my design. Doc1

Urban Courtyard Day 1.

We were given the task to create our own vision of an Urban Courtyard, having the freedom of choosing our own: location, size, colour, shape, texture and scale of objects (such as a chair).

Firstly we have to collect a bunch of images creating a collage of our ideas and then uploading them on to our wordpress account with a clear idea of our vision. We were also given the choice to print of images and create a handmade collage, including textures. As well as the collage we need to explain in detail our thoughts and ideas, of location, style, size and also sound. Also including one form of structure; e.g. a fountain or sculpture. Along the way must also evaluate our work, talking about our progress and explaining it in full detail.

Other than a worded description and images, we also need to sketch up our visualization from different angles. Also we can draw up the structure pieces in full detail to get a realistic idea of your visualization. After we will use 3D Studio Max (3DS) to bring the Urban Courtyard to life.
